Attending the event? Here’s what you need to know!
CAN I STILL GET TICKETS TO THE EVENT?
Tickets to the Luncheon will be available online through April 28. If you missed getting a ticket, we encourage you to check back on our website a few weeks after the event to see a recording of our Good Neighbor Award honoree’s remarks.
I AM A TABLE HOST OR SPONSOR. HOW DO I TURN IN MY GUEST INFO?
Please email guest names and dietary requests to checkler@trumanaward.org by April 28. If you’d like your guests to receive pre-event emails leading up to the event, you may also provide their email addresses.
WILL WYNTON MARSALIS BE PERFORMING?
Though Wynton Marsalis will not be playing at this event, he will be present and delivering remarks as part of his acceptance of the Good Neighbor Award.
WHEN IS THE 2026 EVENT?
Tuesday, May 12th, 2026
Check in opens at 11:15 a.m.
The Luncheon will begin promptly at 12:00 p.m.
WHERE IS IT BEING HELD?
Kansas City Marriott Downtown Imperial Ballroom – Muehlebach Tower on the Corner of 12th and Wyandotte streets.
WHERE SHOULD I PARK?
Parking is available in the Kansas City Marriott Downtown garage, and there will be a discount code for cars attending the event. Recommended overflow options are city garages located at 1004 Wyandotte St and 1036 Wyandotte St. Please click here for further overflow info and directions.
WHAT DO I DO WHEN I ARRIVE?
Please provide your name at the check-in table and be prepared to show your ID. If you are attending as the guest of an individual host or company, please make sure you are aware of your table host/company name.
AM I ALLOWED TO TAKE PHOTOS DURING THE EVENT?
Yes, though we do ask that you please refrain from using flash photography.
HOW LONG WILL THE EVENT LAST?
The event will last approximately 75 minutes.

WHAT’S ON THE MENU?
So glad you asked! We’ll start with a house salad followed by a pan seared chicken (or vegetarian if you requested that with your ticket) entrée finished off with either a slice of naturally gluten free flourless chocolate torte or apple pie.
SOMETHING CAME UP, AND I CAN NO LONGER ATTEND. MAY I GIVE MY TICKET TO SOMEONE ELSE?
You may, but please note that we may not be able to accommodate additional dietary requests within a week of the event. Thank you for understanding!
