Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson will receive the 2025 Truman Good Neighbor Award
at the Kansas City Marriott Downtown on May 8, 2025

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Harry S. Truman Good Neighbor Award Foundation is pleased to announce that Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson will be its 2025 Good Neighbor Award honoree.

The award will be presented on May 8 at the Foundation’s 53rd annual Good Neighbor Award Luncheon at the Kansas City Marriott Downtown.

Justice Jackson was sworn in as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court in 2022 following her nomination by President Biden.  A graduate of Harvard-Radcliffe College and Harvard Law School, she is the first Black woman to serve on the Supreme Court. Prior to her appointment, Justice Jackson served as a Judge on the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, as well as a Vice Chair and Commissioner on the U.S. Sentencing Commission.

“Justice Jackson holds a special place in American history, along with Justice Sandra Day O’Connor and Justice Thurgood Marshall,” said Foundation President Karl Zobrist. “We look forward to honoring her with the Truman Good Neighbor Award in May.”

The Good Neighbor Award is presented annually to honor public figures who exemplify the principles of Harry S. Truman and are recognized for outstanding service to their community and the Nation. Past honorees have included Presidents, Supreme Court Justices, and other leading public figures from around the country.

In addition to this award, the Foundation will present the annual Philip Pistilli Silver Veterans Medal Award and six college scholarships in the fields of international studies and public service.

The Luncheon is open to the public. Tickets will go on sale March 1. Secure your spot early by becoming a Truman Foundation member at www.trumanaward.org/memberships.
