Colonel Joseph F Egan entered the US Marine Corps following his graduation from Seton Hall University in 1967. He served as a Marine Artillery Officer in Vietnam in 1969 and 1970 and was reactivated in 1991 during Operation Desert Storm.
Upon his return to the United States, Colonel Egan continued his service in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve until his retirement in 1998. His awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, the Meritorious Service Medal, and the Combat Action Ribbon.
He is currently Executive Director of the Kansas City Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority. He was instrumental in the planning and establishment of the St. Michael’s Veterans Center that provides safe, permanent housing and supportive services to veterans in the Kansas City metropolitan area.
Col. Egan and his wife, Mary Lee reside in Kansas City, Missouri.
