Colonel Joseph F Egan entered the US Marine Corps following his graduation from Seton Hall University in 1967. He served as a Marine Artillery Officer in Vietnam in 1969 and 1970 and was reactivated in 1991 during Operation Desert Storm.
Upon his return to the United States Col. Egan continued his service to the country and retired from the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve in 1998. Most recently he has been instrumental in building and establishing the St. Michael’s Veterans Center to address veterans’ homelessness issues here in Kansas City.
Col. Egan holds a Master of Arts in Public Administration from Northeastern University and is currently the Executive Director of the Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority. He and his wife, Mary Lee reside in Kansas City, Missouri.
